Hi guys, just a note to update the progress on the G. I got the transmission all together - it took a whole 3 hours, lol. I was a little concerned that the countershaft was going to be too tight - I had some preload and no more shims. But in the process of using my impact to install the outer nut, things worked loose a little and I was ended up with .006" end play. I removed the paper shim gasket and it ended up at a perfect .001". It made my day, to say the least. Everything else went together nicely, also. I'm contemplating reinstalling the axle housing - but I'm not sure if I should until I know if the bearings I ordered are right. Clooney, if you read this, I'll email you the name and adress of the guy I ordered the new bearings from, providing they're right when they get here. I guess that's all for now, it sure is nice having a obsolete old no-good two cylinder to work on, lol. I'd rather assemble this trans than any one of the 15spd and 8spd powershifts I've been into - and I can do those in my sleep.
