Hello:
I just finished rebuilding the hydrolic lift pump and cylinder on my 1941 H. Should the cylinder be able to stay "put" at any setting or only at full extension? Also will it hurt the cylinder or pump to lift it to full extension? The lift handle sort of "jumps" and snaps into the up position and stays there unless I force it to go back down. Is this normal? Thanks in advance.
Ron

That sounds about how I remember it from the little bit I ran a cylinder on mine.

Thanks. It seems to only lock or "stay put" at full extension.

I think the handles fly up hard as most tractors had busted cast piece that holds it.

That's exactly what happens. But is it designed to
"stay put" only in the full up position?
Any memories would be greatly appreciated.
Ron

ron . I think the lifts are only full up or full down no in between. And they are designed to use the factory single acting cylinder which has to be installed the right way up as per arrow on casting their is a check valve of some sort or breather in the cylinder. I'm suprised no other people have commented in response. Guess most are busy typing insults about color wars!!! The lever
should stay up when cyl is extended. I have ran a couple of H's with hydralics but did not use them much.Just tractors I had and sold.

Thanks so much.
This confirms the action I witnessed and all seems to be working normally.
Best regards,
Ron
