I recently split 4320 tractor at transmission. Its all back together working fine except for I have no hydraulics or brakes or 3 point hitch. Would like to know how to bleed hydraulic pump. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thank You!

The main hyd pump does not need bleeding. the transmission pump supplies oil under pressure to the main hyd pump. If there is no hyd then you need to check for hyd oil flow to the main hyd pump. What was the reason for splitting the tractor?

The reason I split the 4320 was because I had to replace the syncronizers on the top shaft. When I filled wih oil, I started it with the top cover off to make sure it was going shift ok. There was oil coming out of tube ok & the tractor had power steering and the brakes pumped up ok. I then bolted the cover on & ran the tractor down the road. It seemed to be doing fine. The tractor sat for 4-5 days. The next time I started it to move it there were no brakes, steering, or 3 pt hitch. TJsdad

I'd bet you have a small piece of debris lodged in the stroke control valve on the main hydraulic pump. If the stoke contol valve does not close, the main hydraulic pump does not build up pressure and NOTHING works.

Another less likely cause could be that the gear tangs for the charge pump sheared off, again due to a foreign body being injested by the charge pump.

To tell which pump is not working right, remove the transmission temperature sender from the filter relief housing and install a pressure gage in it's place. I cannot remember the exact spec for charge oil on a 4320, but I am thinking it should be around 75-100 psi. If you have charge pressure, the main hydraulic pump is the culprit.
