My uncle has a B that his grandfather, my great gradfather, supposedly traded his work horses in for. Any comments or ideas on this program? The dealership must have been above Allentown, PA. It is a styled B, but we're not sure if it is a 38 or 39. The stearing wheel is made of what looks and feels like a hard rubber, gray in color but has green or blue streaks in it. It is the original wheel and in perfect condition. None of us have ever seen any other like it. Ideas are very welcome. I also have a david bradley that has a bad magneto. It is complete, but won't spark. Ideas on restoration or sources to get a new one are wanted. The engine isn't a briggs and stratton, but the other kind that was put on them. Comments and ideas on any of this would be greatly appreciated.

My father traded for a 1941 B JD in 1942. He traded in some horses to the dealer. I don't remember if this was two horses or possibly four. I believe the dealer then took the horses to the sale barn and sold them. I do remember the price of the tractor was $840.00. This was on steel, no power lift, and no starter. This was a new tractor but was a holdover from 1941.

I've heard that some of early WW2 era tractors had a different material on the steering wheeles.Do you have a serial number, how many speeds does the transmission have , how close are the two fuel caps- center to center. Now to the David Bradley, "super power" models used an Continental AU-8, cylinder set on an angle w/magneto cap on top?
