I am restoring a 50 that had a trainer seat on it. I need to know what the cushions looked like and how the were attached. Can anyone help?

Contact Leland Schwandt, 14215 468th ave,Wilmot, SD 57279-5330 ph. 608=432-6192. He has repro. cushions for factory demonstrator seats, he has repro. demo. seat frames also.

what is a trainer seat? see if you can get someone to scan a page from a 50 parts book and send it to you. i've got a parts book but no scanner. what year is your 50? mine is a 54 and i'm working on it and learning along the way, just bought it three wks ago, and only get to work on it on the wk. ends as it is at another place ten miles from my home.( i don't have a sheltered place to keep it)

Walt,
A trainer seat was a two person seat that dealers used to demonstrate tractors to farmers. I've herd the seat also called a buddy seat, and a demo seat. A modern verstion would be a parade seat. According to the information I've recieved each dealer had one of these seats, and it was not available to buy as an opption. My Father-in-Law worked for JD and when he bought the tractor new in 1953 they gave him the seat so his son could ride with him while in the field.
