The machine shop finished my crank.. they were all proud that the rods stayed standards... Oh yea.. we had to turn the mains .030... Hello... anyone ever seen .030 bearings??? Where do I get them.. If I had know this I would have used a different crank... I don't want to have to weld up this crank.. I'll have more in this one crank than it is worth... (but I guess I'm half way there.. ) So.. does anyone know where I can find/order/have made a set of .030 mains for a styled G, they are the two piece style.. Thanks for any help..

Also need the old number bearings and a measurement of how thick the bearing are.
G bearings are a real pain.....

I do not have the bearing numbers.. The left side bearing housing is F 770R, the right side is F 752R (cap is F754R)

I stopped in at the machine shop.. they did turn it to .030...

The G is a 1950.. the main caps are the 2 piece style.. I do not know the number on the crank.. it was just an extra I had around. (But I think it was out of a 1950 also.. ) I called Res Tractor.. only thing they knew to do, was to buy a .020, remove some shims.. and have the bearing bored to match.. I'm head to the machine shop to check on the crank.. I want to make sure the mains are really .030 before I go through too much trouble.. Thanks

JDGnut, been there too, have you tried Renaissance Tractor--1-800-784-0026? Hope I'm right on this, think they have been coming up with odd size bearings.
I had a machine shop do the same to me once, turned them .030, and they ended up fitting the rod caps to the factory .020 bearings by milling off the cap ends, 7 years later it is still running. Don't know if this can be done on main caps or not, just and idea.
Best of luck,
Bob-Wyo
