I have a 4240 and 4020 but need something smaller to get in between small areas on my tree farm. Can anyone give me any suggestions on their thoughts about a 2120 D.
I have been looking at one but it has been painted and that can cover up lots of trouble.

Thanks,

Mark

2120-Engines are very good, dry clutch, hydraulic system has maximum of about 11 gpm, the main hyd pump can sometimes lose capacity if the inlet valves get loose in the housing-check for noise in hyd pump. Rear axles are good but the brakes in the rear axles can disintegrate and cause slow hyd flow to the main hyd pump especially if water has leaked into the trans through the shift levers. Check the trans hyd oil for milky appearance. The weak area on the tractor is the oil tubes in the front of the transmission-they can leak and cause all sorts of problems like PTO and High Low slippage. Usually they are a very reliable tractor and with a three point hitch have a good resale value.

hey there, i've had a 2120 for about 2 1/2 years...love it! Had no major problems, the most was a water pump rebuild. good strong tractor, cold natured though. 38" rear tires are a plus, thing will go like a dozer!!!!!
