I have a 1940 Model L with a Hercules motor that needs a piston. It is an aluminum piston 3.25inch that has been bored over 90 thousandths I believe. The top of the piston has 090 stamped on it. Can I find a replacement ? If so where should I look? Can one be made like it or should I buy two ?

John, you need to mic the cylinder and then you will know what size to find. Try Otto rings as they will have or make what you need. Link

.090 or .060?

.060 would sure be a lot more likely.

Difficult to know. The piston has a stamp that says front with an arrow.pointing. When oriented properly to read this the stampped number reads 090. No decimal point to reference this number though.
