Had one like this on the #5 mower from the early 40's, also one later, I think it was the 14T baler. The latter had a metal strip welded across the bottom so it had to be used.

Thanks for the reply. So I imagine the #5 mower is a sickle bar mower. I probably have a bar and a grass board for it. Would these be desirable items? Also, what era tractor did this fit? I know that there was an MC in the barn plus 'an older model JD'. The local farmer actually said, with a chuckle, that the owner of the MC used hay the fields w/ it. Doesn't seem to practical to me. Thanks again.

Looks like the one that came with my #5 mower and my 14T baler too.

Like Ralph said, a #5 mower. But also all the tow combines that used the pto and anything that is griven by the pto. I picked one up at a junk yard for $20.00

My guess is a #5 mower.
