I have reciently started a full resto on a 50. My exaust manifold has a hole in it. I don't what it is called but the exaust from #2 can be routed through the intake manifold to warm incoming air by a "valve" at the exaust port. The hole is where the intake and exaust manifolds connect. Can I plug this passage and let all the exaust go around the intake through the other passage? Will the "valve" have to be removed? Do I need a new exaust manifold, and if so is a used one for sale anywhere? I would appricate any help with my problem.

Jonathan, the exhaust is routed from # 1 cylinder either around the intake & through the exhaust manifold or into a passage that surrounds the intake. If you plug the L/H side you will also have to plug the R/H side as the exhaust will just backfeed from the other side & out the rust hole. The heat control valve will also have to be set to cold or the L/H cylinder won't be able to exhaust & it won't fire on that side.
~If the manifold is that bad you really should replace it now, you don't want to have to do later after the tractor is painted & put back together. It probably won't last long anyhow.
~You can buy new repo's from many places & I haven't bought one in a while so maybe someone that has bought on recently can tell you who has the best deal going right now.

Is there any difference in the LP intake/exhaust and the gas intake/exhaust manifold, and will the duplex carb bolt to the LP intake manifold? Will the LP manifold increase cfm of air flow?
