D mag identification

How does one determine what is the the correct mag
on JD D's. I have heard there is four different styles, but I don't know how to tell what is correct for what s/n's. Thanks for your help.

The Robert's Carburetor Repair website has a very nice list of this information. You will have to sort it out yourself to find the Ds, but it seems to be all there. I forgot Dixie's were on the early Ds.....
