About 1 year ago I requested info from JD about my old "H". They emailed the build date etc. I lost their email address. I recently requested info for an "AO" I just bought using an email address I got from this site recently. My response from JD was an invitation to subscribe to a magazine called "Tradition" It will now cost $25 for each inquiry if I subscribe or $40 if I don't. Did I hook up with the wrong place or has someone gotten a little greedy?

I have a brochure on the collector's center. I'm pretty sure that it says you get a free inquiry with every membership, and something like unlimited inquiries with the big-dog membership. Does that sound familiar to anyone? I guess I'll dig it out and check. However, it sounds like being charged could be something you could get around, if you were nice and used the right procedure. I guess I wouldn't be opposed to a nominal fee, but $40 or even $25 sounds a little steep, especially considering all the records have probably been stored on computer by now and it only requires them punching a button to bring up the info. I was curious about the build dates, shipping info, etc on my two tractors, but I don't think I'm $80 curious - could by some much needed parts with that cash! LOL! Just my 2 cents guys.

web site, left my tractor info on an answering
machine,a few hours later they called me back.
There was no charge for the information.
