Clooney,

In your reply to Joe and his 46B oil pressure problem you indicated one thing I'm currious about. I guess you can over tighten the bottom nut when installing a new filter. What is the proper tightening pressure for this maintenance item.

Thanks in advance

Dick

POPPER DICK, I've never seen a tightening torque for that nut but it should be just tightened enough to not leak.
~The problem usually starts when the original "O" ring isn't removed & a second one is put in the groove, it takes overtightening to get it to stop leaking & that will warp the top of the filter body.

Clooney,

Thanks, I just changed my oil filter and replaced the botton gasket. Just didn't want to over tighten the big nut.

Dick
