I just took off the loader from my brother inlaws 3020 but I wonder if I did it right. It is quick tach sort off it has the u shaped frame and brackets back at the rear of the frame and it its held on these by 2 bolts each side. It doesn't have the frame back to the axels. Anyway when I took it off I backed out off it and rocked the front off the u frame onto the ground. Sounds good doesn't it, well it sounded good to me too but you have to have 15' of hyd. hose to do it. Maybe there is a frame I don't know about? I don't know. I need some help. Thanks

The 48 loader could be bought with two types of mounting. The quick tach as you are describing with the big L shaped mounting plates on side frame and they used an L shaped pipe stand. The other was a universal mounting which takes a little more effort to get on and off. It has a longer frame which mounts on side frame near front of engine and then had the long frame that went back and bolted on rear axles. It would remind you of a 46 loader. They sure work great. I have both types of 48 loader and really like them.

Ayup, Roger is correct. Unbolt the loader and raise the boom.It will pivot on the front mount. That lifts the rear frame so the L-pipes can be bolted in. Lower the boom to rest on the l-pipes and uncouple the hydraulics. It was recommended by Deere that depending on what bucket is mounted, that weight be added to it to make it lift off the rear frame. Mine had a 60" bucket so I would put about 200 lbs in it to counter the rear frames weight. It was a darned good loader. Designed to fit two cylinder and newer tractors. Also with deere provided brackets would fit Internationals and others. I traded mine in on a 260 Deere loader as my needs changed. Wont say the 260 isnt as good or better but there are times when I miss the 48.

I have a 48 loader on my 3020 there are two pipes that bolt to where you took the bolts out. These L shaped pipes hold the back of the loader up. Then you just back out front under the loader. Takes about 10 min. very easy to do. If you need a 15' hose you did it wrong.
