I have a 35 B that I have been working on and when I got it it had a sent of fenders like th ones shown on the linked page below. Are these the correct type fenders for a 35? If not what were the correct type? I would like to put fenders on this tractor as I don't see many with them.

The fenders in the photo are part number AA 1582 RH (Right Hand)and AA 1583R LH (Left Hand). They came out in 1938 and will not fit a tractor 1937 or below with a hand lift cultivator.

The fenders for a 1935 are much differant and hard to find in good condition. Most every one that I have seen are repro tin on original hardware.

The proper part numbers are AA 468R LH and AA 467R RH.

I checked an original parts book to confirm.

Good Luck,

Mark J

Mark, I think you are right, they sould be the squared off type fenders. Even thought the round style will fit, and were condidered a suitable substitute, I don't think they were available in 1935, according to my parts book. I have been looking at vintage photos and I have not been able find any that show B's with ANY kind of fenders. I thought that Fenders must have really been considered a hinderence or an expensive option that most did not get.

Technically, the fenders on the early B's had a cast iron mounting bracket. Then in 1939 the brackets changed to a square 2 1/2 or 3 inch tube. The fenders looked similar but were not exactly the same. Your fenders look like those made in 1939.

Bguy,

From what I can see on the picture link those fenders look just like the ones on my 1950 model "B"

I don't know where if any changes were made through the years.

Bguy,
I saw a 38 B the other day with the same type of fenders on it. I think those are the correct type for that tractor.
