Pat, I had replied to someone in late January (I think) about how the shafts are "clocked" in the clyinder lift arm but I can't seem to find it either in this set of entries or the archives. Anyway, the shaft halves CAN be positioned in the cylinder lift arm in more than one way as the locking pin does not actually pass through the shaft, but alongside it in a grove machined into the splines (like the locking groove at the end of the PTO shaft). The locking pins go through the holes in the lift arm housing, alongside the shaft in that machined groove, and out the other side of the lift arm. All those pins do is keep the shaft from sliding out. When I disassembled the rockshaft on my 50, I too didn't mark the clocking position between the splines in the shaft and the splines in the lift arm so I had to do what one of the other respondents recommended and that was to hang one of my 3-pt links on the end of the shaft and rotate it to different positions until I had the splines in the correct position for full down travel. After dinner with my wife at the local Mexican restaurant tonight, I'll sneak out to the shop and see if I can measure the angle of the top flat in the full down position. I'll post back a reply.
