I am in the process of trying to slide my rear wheels inward on a 720. The rack won't move. I am drowned everything in penetrating oil for a week now, no movement. The jackbolts won't turn all the way in flush with the marks. They turn in quite a ways, just not to the marks.Any ideas? Thanks

I got around this problem by taking the wedge on the opposite side of the rack completely out then rotate the axle 1/2 turn to disengage the adjuster teeth then slide hub in and turn axle 1/2 turn back you can get within a couple of inches of axle housing with this method

That is the way I had to do it on my 2020. The pinion gear was, and still is, rusted solid. Soaking in wd-40 or rusteater didn't touch it. If you have the time, it would be best to take it completely apart, free everything up and grease it heavily before reassembly. Use all the safety precautions you can. Falling wheels can cause some bad injuries.

Use the search function on this board. Type in the following phrase- moving 3020 wheels. There should be 4 posts that come up. The last one has some good solutions.

don't know what your marks have to do with loosening the wedges..you'll have to screw in till the wedges pop or break loose, then you can use the ratchet if it is not frozen....I always use 3/4 tools with a 5' cheater....

I had to hit the end of the axle with a sledge to get it to break loose , sometimes alot of pounding !

Billy's got it right. Loosen up bolts that tighten the cone on the axle. Tighten the jackscrews as
tight as you can. Hit the end of the axle with a
heavy sledge. When bolts begin to loosen up add
some Blaster (its better than WD40). When bolts begin to move use an impact.
