I have a 1952 John Deere Model A and it has a 4 spoke steering wheel, I have never seen one on a A before and was wondering if it was rare.

Austin, the "A" didn't come with a 4 spoke steering wheel as original equipment. More than likely it is from a manual steering 70 as those were common additions to the "A" & other hard to steer tractors & helped make the steering easier. Those 4 spoke wheels are becoming harder to find & if you really wanted to change back to original you won't have a hard time finding someone to swap with you.

The 4-spoke (19") ,like Clooney said, either came
from the '70 manual or the R diesel tractors. Most
dealers are getting close to $150 for a recovered
4-spoke, so if you swap for a 3-spoke (17'), make
sure you get a fair deal. Personally, it makes the
'A' steer a lot better and I'd leave it on. pb
