1937 B seat? Correct or not?

I have a 1937 Unstyled B. It has a seat and seat support that I have never seen on any other type of tractor or even another JD. Instead of the normal spring bar set up it has a mechanical spring shock that allows soft up and down movement. Does anyone know if this is a JD seat? I cant find any numbers on it, is it maybe an after market. My father bought the tractor in the 70s and it was on there then. Any help would be great. If needed I can get a pic of it. Thanks.

It's an after market seat. I think it was called a Monroe seat.

BMAN is correct. From your description, it sounds like a Monroe aftermarket seat. I've got a friend who had a B with this seat. My Oliver 70 also has this seat. I think they were pretty popular.
