Could someone explain the difference between semi-mounted, fully-mounted, integral-mounted, etc. as it applies to implements? What is second nature to folks that have farmed all their life can be Greek to those of us who are enthusiasts. (I have 7 2cyl JD's, mabey it's sickness not enthusiasm) Thanks in advance Al

A semi mounted implement would only use the 2 lower arms of a 3 point hitch with the rear supported by a wheel that is adjusted by a remote cylinder.

Fully mounted means you raise the entire implement off the ground using the 3 pt hitch. This is where the top link is utilized.

Intragal means the implement is mounted to the tractor such as front cultivators, mowers, plows with out the benefit of a 3 pt hitch.

Hope this helps Don

Don of Wisconson, has the meaning right. The only thing I can add is some intrigal equipment was mounted before Deere's use of three points. These used draw bar attachments with the upper link supplemented by a tractor frame attached bar leading back to the implement.
