Please excuse your snickering, but the Yesterday's site lists the 4010's as starting in 1961. The Nebraska Test Book shows tests being conducted in 1960. Sorry to have to ask this, but what year did they actually start production?

there model year 61 jd tractors from 1960-1990 model year begins in aug of previous year so they were introduced at deere days in dallas on aug 31 of 1960 but sold as 61 model years the nebraska test shows the date as 1960 because they tested them in 1960 the reason i know this is because we have 4010 serial # 4010t1058 and the 61 serial # started at 1000

I remember the first one I saw was at the Farm Progress Show in fall of 1960 , but they were called 1961's .
We got a new 730D in May '60 , must have been one of the last ones .

The first pilot production 4010 was built June 15, 1960---however, they were considered to be 1961 models by Deere.
