The problem sounds like the power wire from the top terminal on the starter has lost connection to the circuit breakers. Follow the large red wire through the fire wall above the starter. That wire should go under the dash on the LH side. Take the cowling off from around the dash. Check the front set of breakers to see if power is present at the buss bar that connects all of the circuit breakers together. Then check for power at the wire connections to the breakers for 12v power. If power is present at all the breakers then you need to check at the key switch for 12v power on the battery terminal. Power can be lost by loose terminals on the breakers. The batteries going dead could be caused by no power from the key switch to the #1 terminal on the alternator. Both small wire terminals on the alternator should have power when the key is turned on. #1 should have 2-9 volts and #2 should have 12 volts. Let me know what you find.
