My oil line from Gov. to tappet case was plugged for who knows how long. That thin tappet oiler pipe, that has the holes to drip on intake valves, is in bad shape .Almost rusted through. There is a cotter pin in one drip hole and there may have been one in the other. Should I put new pins in the holes? Is this some way of slowing the oil drip? I may have to talk to Shorty for a new pipe.
Thanks
Marty

Marty I may have a NOS oil pipe for you, let me check when I get home tonight, but bet Shorty will have one too. Called Mike and thanked him for not letting me down on your parts, great people to deal with.
FOR ALL INFO, there is 4000 gallons out there of the classic green, some dealers were telling it was no longer available, Don't let them BS you. Till later. Bob

Thanks Bob,
The part # is AD 84 R if that helps identify. It is just that 15 inch straight piece, that is inside the tappet case. I now see that my parts book shows what looks like little cotter pins in the 2 drip holes. I wonder why?

Just thinking about those cotter pins? I think I can repair the tappet pipe. Should I put those cotter pins back in? Will the Oil flow be too much without them?
Thanks Marty

Marty, yes use the cotter pins (2), they act as a restricting wick, anyway thats my interperation of there duty.
I looked and guess someone else needed that pipe as it is gone now.
Keep those D's barking.
Bob-Wyo.
