I was wondering if anybody knows where I can get a rebuild kit for the 6 volt generator on a 420W. Mine is putting out 0 amps on the gauge.

Sometimes if it has set for a while you can take
a piece of emery cloth about an inch wide and
about 4 or 5 inches long and sand the armature
as the tractor is running.Take the cover off the
brushes, start the tractor and hold the emery
cloth up to the armature with a screwdriver or
pencil. It will clean the armature like new,and
sometimes do the trick.

I just rebuilt mine with parts from the local auto and truck parts place. It is a Delco unit and uses standard brushes and bearings. That said, I'll bet that the problem is somewhere else, or you have lost the resdiual charge in the field and need to polorize it. The regulators can get sticky and not work. If the tractor has set for a long period, it is probably the residual field charge. The parts are very resonable, less than $20.00.

That sounds more like what the problem is since it has sat out for a while. Where would I take it to get it polarized?

Do a search on "Polarizing" and read what has been said. Clooney has a good response in the list.
