Late JD "B"s came with insert type rod bearings. Your tractor should be one of these. The parts book doesn't give the serial number when this changed from the babbit type. Your tractor should have these. My 260,xxx "B" has the insert type. These bearings are listed in .020 in part cat. PC330. You would need to check with a JD dealer to see. If you, by chance, have babbit rods and they are in good shape, you may be able to remove enough shims to make them work. I'm not sure about this.

My B, # 298311, has babbit instead of inserts. I'd be interested in knowing when they changed to inserts.
