The coil suggestions have shedded some light on my 70 Gas problem. I haven't pulled it yet, put the difference in how it runs is amazing. If you haven't tried it you need to. Also, I was wondering is the dial on your manifold set in the hot or cold position. Remember cold fuel makes horsepower, maybe not as much as you want, but every little thing helps.

Hello there Todd.I have a 40,000 volt Flamethrower coil setting on the counter just waiting for the electronic ignition to arrive.I was going to put it all in at the same time but after this post I will go ahead and install the coil tomorrow. My ignition was ordered on the 12th of December and the card has already been charged.CBS sent me an igniter for a 6volt ignition instead of a 12 volt positive ground along with the coil.I have called about a half dozen times and was assured it would arrive in a week.Lets hope so.What did you notice about yours that is different?Heck,I would whizz on the spark plug if I thought it would help(not really, lol).I put a new Napa coil on it when I rebuilt it two years ago but maybe it is not what it needs. Thanks Todd and everyone else who has helped me.Jack(TN).

The coil on my tractor looks as if it was put on the tractor during the Nixon administration. The tractor responds twice as good when I slam the throttle, I was able to turn up more fuel, the overall running was cleaner. I went up the road a couple of times riding the brakes - seemed to take more pressure on the brakes to load it. I don't think its ready for Div. IV, but it gives me something possible to work with. I have owned over thirty different tractors through the years and this has been far and away the most aggravating. If the coil doesn't help, I would walk away from it for a while and mess with something else (G?) I have to do that or I might take a sledge hammer to it. Let us know what happens.

Hey,that sounds good.I told you a story on my last post.It was the G that got a new coil.I looked at the 70 coil and the 70 coil has rust pits in the metal.I remember wire brushing it off now that I think about it.I will get to changing mine as soon as I get done with my Sunday atta boys(wife duty). It may not fix mine but thats the best hope I had in a while. Thanks Todd.Jack(West TN).
