I have a bad pony motor on my late model 820. Does anyone know who is making these aftermarket. A name & phone number or web address would be nice. Thanks for any help.

i had a 820 with a bad pony motor.. we chaged it our self to electric start.. just get a torch and cut out of plate steel to fit 12 volt diesel truck started. we mounted it and worked fine.. we still had to use the pony engage lever to engage starter drive but was only about 35.00 with junk yard parts and steel and a torch..

Fix the pony motor or find a different one. A good pony motor is better than having an electric starter.

What is the condition of the pup motor? With the assistance of readers & venderers here & on Rummey's site it maybe repairable for less than the cost of electric conversion & maintenance? The 820's value would be preserved instead of depeciated as well.

Look in the 'GREEN MAGAZINE' classifieds. There is a gentleman listing them in there. Sorry, I don't have the magazine in front of me. I've talked with him and seems to be pretty intelligent gentleman. Only one thing. It is 12 Volt negative ground system.
