The european 4040 should be the same as a US 4050, depending on its year it would have the 379 turbo engine or it may have a 466. There is little difference in the tractors except the euro. tractors have a parking brake, brake lites and may be equipped with air brakes for a trailer hook up. In some ways they are better equipped than their american counterpart. Parts are no problem, just tell the parts guy its a 4050. You can get a parts manual for the foreign versions (most part no's are the same) There are some dealers in the Northeast that will get anything you need for them. One thing, they use a pto shaft that looks like a 540 shaft but it turns 1000, just replace the pto shaft with one for a 4050, (previous owner might have done this)
