On my 4010 diesel with a 24 volt system lights go out at an idle. Work ok over 1500 rpm.Don't work with engine stopped. Batteries are fully charged. Should I beooking at the generator or regulator?Any advice appreciated. Thanks Dave

Is the wire with the fuse holder connected to the left battery? The lights should lite with the ign. switch on and lite switch turned on without the engine running. Sounds like you are missing the wire at the left battery, or the fuse is blown.

The ground fuse wire is connected to the positive end of the crossover cable between the two batteries and then to a good ground on the tractor frame. It supplies a ground for the lights on the positive and negative sides of the 24 volt system. But you need to check the back of the light switch to see if you have 12 volts to the "Bat A" and the "Bat B" terminals with the tractor shut off. I can send you a wiring diagram to you if you need it. The fuse in the ground wire is a slow burn 30 amp fuse available at JD.

To Brokenwrench: Thanks for the reply. There is a fuse holder at the end of a wire located near the starter. It doesent connect to anything. Should this be connected to the positive terminal on the starter solenoid. What size of fuse should I use. Thanks Dave
