Help!! Best Sealant for Fuel Lines

I am putting the fuel system back together on a style D. Is teflon tape the best sealant to use to screw the fuel filter (sediment bowl) back into the bottom of the fuel tank? I have a hard time keeping it from leaking. Thanks for your help. Errol

Errol; I use hardening permatex I think it is what
they call #1. Also make sure the fitting made on the bottom of tank is not leaking where it is soldered. The hardening permatex helps when one more turn is too tight and you have to back it off a little bit to line up and then it is loose
the sealer hardens and seals gas but can easily
be taken apart later.
