Here in NC Illinois there weren't that many 3020's sold , we were looking for a used one in early '70s , looked lots of places including farm auctions , we wanted a diesel powershift , finally found one traded in at IH dealership , we traded a 450 IH in for it . Seems like what we found was about 25% were diesels and I don't think there were no more than 20% powershift no matter gas or diesel . That is what we found back then and from what I've seen since I think that still holds true . I knew of only one other 3020D pawershift around here and it's been gone for a long time , I still have mine , there are three people waiting for me to get rid of it but I',m going to hang on to it it is just too handy to part with . I would think any 3020 ps would be kinda rare . JIM

Sorry, but no one knows.
It is likely that no one will ever know.
The records which John Deere kept are in a manual form- it would require 2-3 months of painstaking hand examination of every record in order to find out how many 3020 or 4020 tractors were built. John Deere isn't going to do it, and won't allow outsiders to do it either. You can only guess, but powershift is more rare than syncro---however, they built a LOT of gas tractors, so a gas powershift is probably not "rare". Powershift IS more popular than Syncro-scarcer or not, it is better, so a gas Powershift tractor would be more desireable than a gas syncro, although probably not able to command the $2000+ premium that diesel brings.
