I have a 1941 Model "A" that I have slowly been rebuilding. When I took it apart to turn the chrankshaft, I found some bad things. The tapered splines had been worn down and the clutch disk was flipped over in order to make the thing work. The clutch release fork was also broken. The main bearings were toast as well. I am planning to bore out the cylinders and use gas pistons to gain some compression over the old all-fuel jobs. Hopefully, I can get a gasoline manifold as well. I was wondering if anyone would know of a crankshaft repair shop that can fix this crank or a place where I can get one used? I haven't tried Deere due to the sticker shock! I've already spend around 200 on the old-style babbit mains and replaced the babbit rods with 60 units. Thanks.

adude,
Try Shorty Dear, he posts on this forum occasionally. He is very honest and reasonable prices. His phone is 800-435-3968. I have bought D parts from him before and was very satisfied. I think if the crank and clutch disk are that bad I would replace it all. Good Luck, Paul
