I need to move a 1956 JD 440 track loader. I would like an estimate of its weight, if anyone has the specs.

The owner would love a copy of the specs also if possible.

Thanks to everyone and the for the weight estimates.

I checked with the owner and it is a 1958, not 1956 like I typed.

Thanks again!

From the Manuals: 440ICD shipping weight - 6,300 pounds
440IC shipping weight - 5,850 pounds
831 Loader weight w/ bucket & Six weights - 4,339 pounds
91 Loader weight w/ bucket & Six weights - 4,237 pounds
A max. of 11,000 pounds would be a good estimate.
Hope this helps, Sam

I have a 440ICD loader and the basic tractor weights 6919,and the loader weights ,depending on counter weights and plow, around 4500 so it could easily weight 11,000 according to the manuel, they are heavier than they look

Sean, we had a 440 crawler hi lift when I was in high school in the early seventies and it was no big deal to move. Dad had a trailer to haul it on behind our single axle dump truck but when that wasn't available we just loaded it on our single axle grain truck with a wood floor. I'm pretty sure that a 440 crawler would weigh out 7,000 lbs max. It just didn't seem to be that big of a load. What I didn't know was that they were built as early as 1956. I thought they came along maybe in 59 or 60. HJ.
