Hey guys I got a strange one here. I just recently started restoration on a Model 520(we thought) that my father purchased several years back. He had always thought it was a 520 because that is what is on the serial tag. The tag seems to be original and doesn't seem to have been changed. We had never seen a 530, but while looking in a parts manual, we soon found out that we actually had a 530. The steeing wheel and dash section alerted us to this. We cant believe that someone changed the whole cast where the crank and everything is,so were kinda confused. Is there any other #'s on the tractor that would indicate the Model. We just want to know if the tag has been changed or what. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

520 and 530 cast will change out... My friend has a 630 gas,the cast broke and he replaced it with a cast that has 620 LP,on the tag.

same.

The steering wheel shaft comes up through the dash and under the hood on mine instead of going through the top of the hood. Is that what your calling the slant dash style.

If the steering shaft comes up thru the dash , that's a 530. However if the tractor was in a roll over the steering etc. could have been replaced with 530 parts. Is the hoods rounded or squared. Rounded hoods are 530 and the squared (like a 60 ) would be 520. Not much help was I, cant think of a sure way to tell as far as casting no's. I'm sure some one knows. Don

The hood is rounded I must have a 530 with a cast for a 520.
