I have a 45 B and I am a new JD owner and don't know much about the cluch except that you tighten it when it gets loose. The tractor is a fresh from the grove(grave) I got it running and when ever I use it for more than 10 minutes it the clutch needs to be adjusted. Many people are telling me its just rust burning off. Should i just buy new pads or keep tightening? I am running out of adjustment room on the bolts. I tightend it last and I didn't get that snap that you should get and I didn't over tighten it. thanks in advance Merry Christmas

RossMN, sounds like you better pull the cover & remove the 3 nuts, adjusting disk & outer plates & see what is going on. If they are in bad shape or crumbling then you will have to pull the pulley & inner disk. You might have the linings coming loose from the plates or severe rust in the clutch assembly.
