I just bought a 50 that has an altenator on it. The amp meter read 20(pegs to the right side of the meter) The battery does not get hot. Is this ok?

James, probably nothing to worry about, most alternators are capable of putting out way more than the stock generator & 20 amps is probably still way less than the alternator is capable of. If it stays at 20+ amps after the tractor has run for over an hour you either have a bad battery or the alternator is wired wrong. It should drop back to a reasonable amount 5-10 amps after the tractor has run long enough to bring the battery up to full charge. If it doesn't drop back after you run it a while post back.
