John, more than likely you have a worn pin or pin slot on the actuating sleeve. Or the worm [sleeve] cam is momentarily hanging up. ~It's even possible you have a broken vane pin but that usually acts up on a more regular basis. ~Those sleeve parts are very hard to just look at tell if there is a problem. It probably wouldn't hurt to install new operating sleeve pins [yours are probably worn somewhat flat] & that might be all it takes. If the worm cam has a worn place in the slot that should also be replaced.. ~You also have to fully understand the operation of the steering power flow & how the parts interact with each other before working on it or your steering can easily become unsafe. ~My suggestion would be to buy the Deere 2 cylinder power steering manual & read the operation & trouble shooting information in that manual. That manual will cover most repairs & trouble shooting & is good information for setting all the many internal clearances & adjustments. ~You can try turning the flow control up a little as that will sometimes cover the problem up & allow it to work better but that really isn't a permanent repair. ~I will be glad to answer any of your questions & help with specific set-ups but to give you a step by step on how to repair your problem would take a book & more typing than is practical.... ~You might want to look over all the mechanical parts like tie rod ends, steering arms & other moving parts just to be sure you don't have a mechanical part contacting or jamming up on a bolt or casting part...
