Gunner, The differential lock on a 2630 is a mechanical actuated shift collar that connects the left pinion shaft from the left differential bevel gear to the differential case. I have seen these fail in several places. Shift fork has two brass slipper ears that engage in the shift collar groves that may be worn out and gone. Shift fork or shaft may be broken or bent. The real show stopper that I have also seen is the end of the differential case that the shift collar connects to may be sheared off of case which will require the replacement of differential case. To service the differential lock control shaft, shift fork, brass slippers, or shift collar the left final drive axle assembly has to be removed. In event that there is damage found to the differential housing case the right axle assembly will also have to be removed plus rockshaft assembly and then the complete differential assembly. When axle assemblies are removed the brake disk and pads will be exposed and just as well look at them too. Nothing that time and money won't fix. Hope this will give you an idea of where and what you will have to do. Pull left final drive housing first and you may not have to go any further than that to correct your problem Good Luck, Dave W.
