I am thinking about taking my seat assembly apart and I was wondering how you would ever get the spring back on. How would you get it compressed and the nut back on the bolt?

Same for me... The spring only expands about an inch or so...

I rebuilt a seat on a "B" a few weeks ago. That spring does not expand very much. By the time the nut reaches the end of the bolt, the spring will probably be relaxed and loose. Try it slowly to be sure, but mine was no problem.

Thanks for the info, I'll give it a try here in a few days. I had this vision that the thing would jump off the bolt and be about a foot long.
