I am curently installing wheel bearings on a 4020 row crop (wide front). The inner bearing race came out very easily, and the new one kind of snaps in. But the race itself is not tight in the hub, it spins. Is this right? Every race I've ever installed you have to pound in. There doesn't appear to be any wear on the hub. Would the race be installed using something like JB weld instead of buying a whole new hub? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. Mike

Use Retaining compound , I believe the number is 660 or 680. If gap is to large they offer also quick metal. Applied Industrial Technologies should stock these..... ....

Mike, what I have always done is to take a sharp center punch and make a small indentation every 1/2 inch or so all around the seat. This should insure that the race is centered. I loctite it in as per Steven's post. This has nearly always worked for me.

I had something like this one time. I used Loctite. That's like 10 years ago and it's still going.
