I just got myself a 730 LP that has been setting in a shed for 6+ years, I can start the tractor, and it will only run about 15 seconds,,I have Lp gas getting to the regulator,,,I can keep the tractor running by pouring gasoline down the intake stack, and it run fine,,but if I quit puting the gasoline it will run for about one minute, and die, I think the regulator might be bad..This is my 1st LP.

Does the stall occur while running on vapour or liquid fuel? Pouring gasoline down the intake stack doesn't directly add fuel to the engine, there is an oilbath aircleaner in-between. But the gasoline vapours will get there through the oil/mesh. By the way odds are 99% aircleaner is also plugged with old dirt/oil from 1/4 to 1/2 way up the internal mesh. A cause of some mysterious low power, high fuel consumption, plug fouling & ring/bore wear problems. How many inches water column pressure of LP is there feeding the carb?

Hey Ben, It is easy to rebuild a converter. My local LP dealer got a Century rebuild kit for me in a week (pricey!). If the convertor is bad, it would be a good idea to clean/rebuild the carb, too. Carb rebuild parts are available from the local Deere dealer. Even though LP is very clean burning; over the 40 years passed, it will leave a heavy tar inside the fuel system. If the converter and carb have been recently looked at, check the fuel filter/solenoid assembly.
