2030 injection pump bad?

My 2030 ran out of fuel the other day when my brother was using it, and he put more fuel in by the time I arrived on scene. We tried priming the transfer pump, bleeding the filter, cracking the line into the injection pump, and cracking the injectors- still wouldn't start. Found grime in sediment bowl, changed filter- wouldn't start. When engine turns over with injectors cracked, only one line has an occasional spurt of fuel. Took timing window off injector pump and fuel ran out. Fuel comes fine to inlet on injector pump. Pump was a little out of time, exhaust smoke white. Crankcase has a lot of diesel in it. Tractor sat for a long time as I was trying to fix Hi-Lo. Is the injector pump bad? This tractor has ruined two other pumps, while our other three diesels (not JD's) have never had this problem. Temp when tractor ran out of fuel was about 22F. Any help you can give will be much appreciated.

If the tractor was running fine before it ran out of fuel I'd say you just need to bleed everything including the upper bleed screw on the inj. pump and then the lines. as for fuel in the engine you could have a bad transfer pump or bad seal on the inj. pump. If you have put 2 other pumps on this tractor already I would recomend removing the fuel tank and cleaning it and the supply lines, since you are not having problems with your other tractors I'd say there is some serious contamination in the fuel system on this one .
