Here in Michigan 2 row 3 pt planters are getting real pricey. $400 or more for good ones. I saw a real nice 2 row JD, I think it was a 290, sell for almost $700 3 wks ago. Some guy bought it to put on his 430 for shows.

Are you asking about the 246 (247) 3 pt planter? They made them for the J.D. 40 and finally took them out of the line when they quit the 1010,2010 and the 3010.They then sold two unit planters mounted on a toolbar for a 3 pt 2 row planter. They also made a 3 pt hitch so that 2 246 planters could be hitched side by side to make a 4 row planter. I have a 246 for sale for $150.00. And a RB-2 2 row 3pt cultivator for sale for $150.00. they made the RB-2 for the 40 thru the 3010 also. We haven't used them since 1985 when we went hay/pasture.
