Need my memory refreshed. Neighbors 530 needs transmision to rear axle gasket replaced & while we're at it power trol to axle gasket. While we're in there he wants to replace pto drive shaft seal. Is this the seal on the front of the power troll housing which is a pump or is there another one on the back side near the pto clutch? Thanks, Gene

Clooney is right on line. I purchased a 530 some months ago and have been bringing the tractor up to date. My overall opinion is the later models....520/530 were worked to death versus some of the older models. I suppose the farmers paid higher prices and intended to get their monies worth. I have found clearances not present in 3/4 B's previously owned. The axle seals probably need replacing, you will probably find the seal edge worn through to the wires. Also you need another person to help, as these are a bear to hold the bull gear and realign. Also you have to be careful and not damage the seals on replacement of the axle. Good luck in your efforts.

Eugene, it's been a while since I have done a 530 but to the best of my knowledge (I have CRS) there is a seal in the ft. of the pump, none at the rear, a seal at the clutch fork shaft that sticks out the side, & a seal at the rear for the powershaft that sticks out the rear.

Eugene, as long as you are going that far into it, it would be an excellent time to install inner axle shaft seals as you are close at that point & they are probably needed due to age.
