I'm trying to adjust brakes on my 820, the adjusting screw won't turn either way. I took brake drum off and the adjusting screw turns easy. as soon as I set the brake drum back on, can't turn adjusting screw agin. how come? thanks Greg.

Solution 1: leave the brake drum off all together.
Solution 2: keep it on and just don't ever adjust it.
Seriously, screw the adjusting screw out of the housing and lubricate the threads good. Check the pointed end to be sure there aren't burrs or something that can be binding when it tries to spread the shoes. Then check the pins that ride on the slope of the adjuster, and hook in the shoes to be sure they are smooth on the adjuster end. With everything lubricated well I see no reason it won't turn with the drum on or off. Here in AL we get lots of practice getting stuff that's rusted tight working again. Hope some of that helped.
Tony
