By now you probably have guessed that I'm new to John Deere's having just purchased my first. How the heck do you check engine oil level? I can't find a dip stick.

Also where would I find a good service manual for this old tractor.
Thanks
Bud

The owners daughter had listed it on the internet.Ipicked it up at his home in Rulo NE this past weekend.

By the way where do you put the oil in and what kind of oil is recommended? I obviously need a book. I have two Allis Chalmers that have been in my family since new ( 1938 &1945 ) but their engines are just like automobiles and everything is obvious.
