Just completed a rebuild on a 38 A started it up and has good oil pressure. Run it for around 30-45min and was going to reset the valves and took the rocker cover off and no oil! removed and checked tube from gov and clean and free but just dabbles out the gov hole Question is how much oil should these rocker arms be getting? Thanks for the input and Have a Happy Thanksgiving

If it's any consolation, the oil just sputters out of the governor hole on my 39 A, too. I think it's m.o. is "slinger". Certainly not pressure. Takes a while for it to start dripping onto the rocker arms. Make sure the oil delivery pipe has a negative slope, and that the distribution tray mounted to the underside of the valve cover is clean and in good shape.

Sid would a shade-tree-meckinics opinion do. Check the oil line coming up to the gov. from the oil pump I've see these get bent over and the crank will rub a hole in it. If the line is ok you will have to pull govenor housing and clean the passage way out, there should be a pretty good oil flow to the rockerarms,On one of my "G"s there was a tiny pin hole drilled into the galley purposely so oil would spray over the the govenor mechanizim,I thought was a good idea because the little ball bearings need plenty of oil. eat more turkey and keep traactoring Gman
