when repairng the slave cly i have found that the best way to bleed the cly is to run a small tube fron the bleed port on the slave cly. back to the clutch fluid resivior clear tube works the best as you can see the air beening removed. also where the tube from the resivor to the master has a low spot in it it will sometime trap air in it using this system save fluid and thoes special words!!!!

check the stroke of the rod of the slave cylinder while depressing the pedal. should be about 3/8".
if you have the stroke and no release, there is a problem with the clutch. if not ,more bleeding is required.

Gman, The 2550 clutch is a common dry clutch like used on many other applications. The hydraulic master / slave system was used on the cab models. If the slave cylinder is actuating the clutch shaft on the side of the clutch housing then probably what may have happened is before the repair of this hydraulic actuating system the clutch was not being fully disengaged causing slipping and heating during clutching functions causing damage to the clutch unit. If the clutch pedal feels normal and the slave cylinder is reacting to pedal movement, this is what I would expect happened. Tractor with this type of hydraulic actuator require no clutch pedal free travel adjustment. So if its working there is nothing you can do but take a further look inside. Good Luck, Dave W.
