Two people have sent me photos of a LP-430 In both photos they seem to have a slanted steering wheel, not vertical like the 40. They don't seem to have a slant dash, but the wheel is definately slanted (would have to have a u-joint.) The dash looks straight like on a 420. Maybe there is some confusion as to (slant wheel and slant dash) I can e-mail the photos to anyone intrested. Thanks, Wayne

Wayne, I can rebuild your u-joint if it is an AT10791T for the slant steer tractors, I also have some cores if yours is the old style that will replace it.

The high crop LP tractors were all straight steer from the 420's through 430. The 420's past serial number 125,000 & all 430's were slants. Most often found missing the origional steering wheel too.

Boy! Glad we got that all cleared up. That was a bugger wasn't it? My reason for asking in the first place was that I am in the process of buying 2 or 3 of the 430 and some didn't mention if they were slant steering, so I took it for granted they all were. Thanks much, Wayne.
