Just Posted a question over on the implement board, and thought it might not hurt to ask here also. Would like to get a little history on the John Deere Barge Box. Also would like to see a photo or two to see if this is still in orginal condition. Have never been around any of these. Thanks, Don

Are you talking about the wood barge box J.D. made in the late 1940's and into the 1960's that fit between the bolsters and then flaired out on the sides with a grain door in the back? Thw wood was clear stained poly and were heavly braced with steel painted in green. You could get a hyd cylinder to pick it up like a dump box and i think they held about 100 bushels. I have the book JOHN DEERE TRACTORS AND EQUIPMEMT and this shows on page355 A later (1959) full square (no flaires) showes on page 352.
